COURSE OUTLINE:
TSM Training Solutions is flexible and mobile, which means we will come to you for this course. TSM Training Solutions will deliver this course under a third-party agreement with All States Training RTO#32577. All States Training is the registered training organisation that issues the nationally recognised Statement of Attainment when a student has been deemed competent in a course.
HOW IS THE TRAINING DELIVERED?
- Face-to-Face Inexperienced Operator
- Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) Experienced Operator
COURSE REQUIREMENTS:
- Provide current Photo Identification.
- Have a USI# before Enrolment.
- Have a good understanding of the Mining Industry.
- Be able to possess adequate Language, Literacy and Numeracy skills.
COURSE OVERVIEW:
This unit covers Conduct Scraper Operations within the mining industry. This includes but not limited to;
- Plan and prepare for Scraper Operations.
- Operate Scraper in line with establish requirements.
- Load, haul and dump materials to complete work activity.
- Conduct housekeeping activities to a Scarper.
YOU WILL LEARN TO:
- Apply relevant documentation, policies and procedures.
- Use of correct personal protective equipment.
- Apply safe work practices.
- Apply problem solving and troubleshooting techniques.
- Apply correct positive communication techniques.
- Plan and prepare for the job at hand.
- Carry out pre-operational checks.
- How to operate a Scarper in a safe and efficient manner.
- Carry out refuelling requirements and procedures.
- Carry out post-operational checks.
LOGBOOK TRAINING:
- All students are required to complete a minimum of 160 hours, recorded in their logbook, of on-the-job training in a working environment.
- Set tasks are listed on the front of the logbook and must be completed several times, depending on the student.
ASSESSMENTS:
- There will be theory assessments to complete.
- There will be a practical assessment to complete, this may take 4 to 6 hours and will only be conducted once the logbook and theory assessments have been verified.
COURSE DURATION:
The duration of this course will vary depending on the student's ability to complete the logbook training and theory assessments. Once your trainer has reviewed the logbook and marked the theory assessments, your trainer will then book you in to conduct the practical assessment.
LICENSING REGULATION:
Load shifting equipment (other than a Forklift) are no longer required to have a licence, however an operator must still be deemed
competent.
QUALIFICATION OUTCOME:
Successful students receive a "Statement of Attainment", and a wallet-sized operator card, which is recognised under the Australian Qualifications Framework.
