Course Title: Load and Unload Plant
TSM Training Solutions will deliver this course under a third-party agreement with APS Training Group RTO#31588. APS Training Group is the registered training organisation that issues the nationally recognised Statement of Attainment when a student has been deemed competent in a course.
HOW IS THE TRAINING DELIVERED?
- Face-to-Face Inexperienced.
- Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) Experienced.
COURSE REQUIREMENTS:
- Provide current Photo Identification.
- Provide current White Card.
- Have a USI# before Enrolment.
- Have a good understanding of mobile plant equipment.
- Be able to possess adequate Language, Literacy and Numeracy skills.
COURSE OVERVIEW:
Loading and unloading of plant from a float or trailer must be handled carefully to ensure the safety of workers and the integrity of the mobile plant. The operator must receive adequate training to Load and Unload Plant economically and safely. This course focuses on the skills and knowledge required to Load and Unload Plant in the Resources and Infrastructure Industries.
COURSE OUTLINE:
This unit covers Load and Unload Plant within the civil industry. This includes but not limited to:
- Prepare to Load and Unload plant.
- Load the plant in line with established requirements.
- Unload the plant in line with established requirements.
YOU WILL LEARN TO:
This includes but not limited to:
- Apply relevant documentation, policies, and procedures.
- Apply safe work practices.
- Apply problem solving and troubleshooting techniques.
- Use of correct personal protective equipment.
- Apply correct positive communication techniques.
- Displaying signage and erecting barriers to isolate work area.
- Carry out pre-operational checks on mobile plant equipment.
- Move plant onto and off a float or trailer.
- Securing plant to float or trailer.
ASSESSMENTS:
Theory and Practical assessments will be undertaken throughout the course.
COURSE DURATION:
This course will be conducted face-to-face over one (1) day on site.
LICENSING REGULATION:
Load shifting equipment (other than a Forklift) are no longer required to have a licence, however an operator must still be deemed competent.
QUALIFICATION OUTCOME:
Successful students receive a "Statement of Attainment", and a wallet-sized operator card, which is recognised under the Australian Qualifications Framework.
