Course Title: Certificate II in Security Operations
TSM Training Solutions will deliver this course under a third-party agreement with
APS Training Group RTO#31588. APS Training Group is the registered training organisation that issues the nationally recognised Statement of Attainment when a student has been deemed competent in a course.

COURSE REQUIREMENTS:
- Be over 18 years of age.
- Have not been convicted of a criminal offence within the past 10 years.
- Be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold an appropriate Visa to work in Australia.
- Have a USI# before Enrolment.
- Be able to possess adequate Language, Literacy and Numeracy skills.
COURSE OVERVIEW:
The role of a security officer is, maintaining safety and security by patrolling, protecting or guarding property while unarmed, screening entry, monitoring behaviour, and removing persons from premises.
COURSE OUTLINE:
This qualification is intended to align with the following occupational licencing outcomes:
- Security officer – Unarmed Guard.
- Security officer – Crowd Controller.

YOU WILL LEARN TO:
This includes but not limited to:
- CPPSEC2101 - Apply effective communication skills to maintain security.
- CPPSEC2102 - Apply legal and procedural requirements to work effectively within a security team.
- CPPSEC2103 - Apply WHS, emergency response and evacuation procedures to maintain security.
- CPPSEC2104 - Apply risk assessment to select and carry out response to security risk situations.
- CPPSEC2105 - Provide quality services to a range of security clients.
- CPPSEC2106 - Protect self and others using basic defensive techniques.
- CPPSEC2107 - Patrol premises to monitor property and maintain security.
- CPPSEC2108 - Screen people, personal effects, and items to maintain security.
- CPPSEC2109 - Monitor and control access and exit of persons and vehicles from premises.
- CPPSEC2110 - Monitor and control individual and crowd behaviour to maintain security.
- CPPSEC2111 - Apply security procedures to manage intoxicated persons.
- CPPSEC2112 - Apply security procedures to remove persons from premises.
- CPPSEC2113 - Escort and protect persons and valuables.
- HLTAID003 - Provide first aid.
ASSESSMENTS:
Theory and Practical assessments will be undertaken throughout the course.
COURSE DURATION:
We have designed this course around a work life balance so students can still work and study at the same time, the time frame to complete this is course is six (6) months from enrolment date (an extension can be requested and must be approved within the six (6) month time frame). Students will be required to attend our training facility to complete practical assessments once modules are completed this will be arranged by your trainer. If a student requires additional support, we can arrange one on one training with our trainer throughout this course as we are here to help you succeed. Once the course is completed, the marking can be completed within a business day.
LICENSING REGULATION:
To work within the Security Industry, you must hold a current Security Licence in the state you are working as a security officer, every three (3) years you are required to complete a crowd controller refresher course. The Security Providers Act 1993 (the Act) Queensland.
QUALIFICATION OUTCOME:
Successful students receive a "Certificate II in Security Operations".
